At just 19, she has conquered the 64 squares, becoming India’s 88th Grandmaster and 1st Indian Woman to achieve the title !
Her brilliant win at the 2025 FIDE Women’s World Cup in Batumi, Georgia came after a thrilling final against Indian legend Koneru Humpy, who played with skill and grace.
A proud moment where Indian chess triumphed, as one star rises and another continues to inspire. Best wishes to both for a bright future ahead!

फक्त 19व्या वर्षी इतिहास रचणाऱ्या नागपूरच्या दिव्या देशमुखचे मन:पूर्वक अभिनंदन!
2025 च्या FIDE महिला विश्वचषक स्पर्धेत, जॉर्जियामधील बटुमी येथे दिव्याने केवळ विजय मिळवला नाही, तर भारतासाठी बुद्धिबळाच्या इतिहासातील एक सुवर्णक्षण लिहून दिला.
समोर होती दिग्गज ग्रँडमास्टर कोनेरू हम्पी, दोन पिढ्यांतील दोन बुद्धिबळ सम्राज्ञींची ही अकल्पनीय लढत, बुद्धिबळप्रेमींना आजन्म लक्षात राहील.
दिव्याने भारताची 88वी ग्रँडमास्टर होण्याचा मान पटकावला आणि ती देशाची पहिली महिला ग्रँडमास्टर ठरली आहे, ही बाब देशाच्या बुद्धिबळ इतिहासात एक मैलाचा दगड ठरते.
दिव्या देशमुख आणि कोनेरू हम्पी, या दोघीही आजच्या आणि उद्याच्या पिढ्यांसाठी प्रेरणेचे जिवंत उदाहरण आहेत.
