Tempo-Car Collision in Fandpuri: Six Seriously Injured Including a Woman

Saharanpur (U.P.) – A horrific road accident shook the Fandpuri area under Nakud Police Station limits on Friday evening when a speeding, unidentified car rammed into a tempo carrying several passengers. The collision was so intense that the tempo overturned on Saharanpur Road, leaving chaos and panic at the site.

According to eyewitnesses, the tempo was moving towards Saharanpur when suddenly a high-speed car, coming from the opposite direction, lost control and hit the vehicle head-on. The impact threw the passengers off balance and overturned the tempo, injuring many inside. Local residents rushed to the spot and immediately alerted the police.

On receiving the information, Fandpuri Police Outpost In-charge Robin Rathi, along with his team, quickly reached the accident site and initiated rescue operations. Police and local people together helped take the injured out of the damaged tempo. With the help of ambulances, all six injured were rushed to the District Hospital Saharanpur, where they are undergoing treatment under the supervision of doctors.

Station House Officer (SHO) Avinash Gautam later confirmed the identities of the injured as follows:

  • Monu, son of Shambhu, resident of Bakar Majra, PS Nakud

  • Hem Chandra, son of Moratu, resident of Kothdi

  • Phool Bano, wife of Mukarram, resident of Kailashpur

  • Hitik, son of Menpal, resident of Sharda Nagar, Saharanpur

  • Faizan, son of Maqsood, resident of Mohalla Sarai, District Rampur

  • Kartar, son of Harji, resident of Pavti, PS Charthawal, Muzaffarnagar

Among the injured, the tempo driver Monu sustained critical injuries, while others also received serious head and limb injuries. Doctors informed that timely medical aid helped save lives, but the condition of two injured is said to be critical.

Police have seized both the car and the tempo involved in the collision. The identity of the car driver is yet to be ascertained, and efforts are on to trace him. SHO Gautam stated that legal action will be initiated once a formal written complaint (tahrir) is submitted by the victims or their families.

The accident has once again raised questions over reckless driving and overspeeding on Saharanpur Road, which has witnessed several fatal mishaps in recent times. Locals have demanded stricter police patrolling and installation of speed breakers in the accident-prone stretch near Fandpuri.
